Patient education
Making everyday health information easier to use.
A lot of health information is technically accurate and still hard to use. Patients are often left to translate medical language into decisions about their own lives, without much support in between.
Good patient education is not about simplifying for its own sake. It is about giving people what they actually need to make a decision: what a diagnosis means in practice, what the options are, and what to expect next.
I try to bring this approach into everyday conversations with patients, and into how I think about health communication more broadly — clear, honest, and centered on what the person in front of me actually needs to know.
